DESCRIPTION:
WW - Audemars Piguet, manual wind, 31mm x 36mm to lug tips, original 18K yellow gold case with added diamond bezel and later added 18K yellow gold bracelet with the letters "ROOOOS" repeating over the entire bracelet, the bracelet is signed 18K, 14K and 10% irid plat as well as the likely constructor Ruser (a favorite of Skelton), refinished textured dial with applied gold indices signed "Rusex" at 6, 17J cal 2003, case s#29392, movement s#911111, triple signed. Gross weight of assembled watch 87.0 dwt (135.4 g). Bracelet tests as 18K gold. Originally given to Red Skelton by John Ascuaga of the Nugget Casino Resort, likely from the late 1960s as Ruser closed its doors in 1969. This watch appears to have been a favorite of Red likely due to its enormous weight. From the collection of Red Skelton.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; refinished dial with light surface spotting; fine black painted gold hands missing some of the black painted finish; polished and modified case show ample wear, the bracelet was soldered onto the case and the platinum diamond bezel has been modified, numerous small dings from years of wear; crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
